Becky Rawls-Riley
Becky Rawls-Riley is the founding entrepreneur for Becky Bags LLC. She draws on her life experiences to provide the creative products of the company and is actively seeking business partners and customers who will be delighted with its unique accessories.
The creative efforts of Becky combine the art that was encouraged by her Dad and the sewing and needlework learned from her Mother.
While growing up, Becky had many art teachers. Her Dad even created an art studio in the small house in the back yard and brought in a teacher from a neighboring town until it was converted for other purposes. Occasionally, dress up would include creating original clothes from newspapers rather than just finding old clothes or dance costumes to put on. During high school, she created her own handbags and took art classes. Her first year in college was focused in art and she picked up a textiles class. Acrylic paintings from that year are place around her home today.
After learning sewing with her Mother, it became a sporadic, project-oriented activity over the years and she created original quilts for each of her children after they were born. Becky’s needlework skills greatly expanded during the years that her Mother started and owned her own needlework shop, Betsy’s Needle Nook.
Entrepreneurship provided the livelihood for Becky’s Dad for many years as he started and ran his own general medical practice. Becky’s Mother closed her needlepoint shop and has since retired, but she provides valuable insight for Becky as she pursues Becky Bags. Becky started her original business, Operating Sooner, Inc., in 1996 and draws on the things she learns from that business for Becky Bags.
