Kansas State Fair Entries Place

OLATHE, KS – – Stop and see the open class entries at the Kansas State Fair that were created and made by Becky Bags LLC’s President, Becky Rawls-Riley. Three took third place in their class. All entries are on display and include:

Twisted Ribbon windshield handbag is a girly windshield handbag from Becky Bags.
New Day Hope handbag specifically for sister-in-law Sandra Miller. In addition to having Sandra’s name, it features a large Bargello needlepoint panel, red satin lining, and a saying by her mother. Placed third.
Sunflower bookends and Snowflake stockings are two new items that will be officially released in the coming weeks. Both placed third.

OLATHE, KS – Becky Bags LLC supports Mo-Kan Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association with the donation of Love of Friendship bookends for the auction at the April 22 Business Associate event. To learn more about the event, visit http://www.abwamokan.org/.

The Love of Friendship bookends design originated in 2010 as the second bookends model created by Becky Bags. Becky Bags offers do-it-yourself kits and eBooks of the Love of Friendship bookends, but does not sell the completed model. It makes these original completed bookends exclusively available for the support of non-profits on an extremely limited basis.

ABOUT ABWA and the Mo-Kan Chapter of the ABWA

The mission of the organization is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership education, networking support, and national reconition. Olathe, KS – ‘a Night at the Cabaret!’ is a fundraising event for No More Homeless Pets KC that will be held on April 24 at The Fabulous Flo’s Cabaret. The show will feature some of Kansas City’s finest female impersonators. Prior to the show there will be cocktails with a silent auction and Becky Bags has donated a pair of its Snowflake 2009 bookends for the auction.

The Snowflake 2009 bookends was the first bookends model created by Becky Bags. It was created for the December class held at the Olathe Public Library. Press here to see the Library’s Snowflake display case that was used to promote the needlepoint class in January that featured hearts.

OLATHE, KS – Becky Bags LLC supports SAFEHOME’s initial requests for great auction items with the donation of Love of Friendship bookends. Planning is underway for the 18^th Annual June Jubilee signature fundraising event to be held on Sunday, June 13, and auction items are currently being accepted. The limited, eco-friendly bookends feature repurposed jeans fabrication with handmade needlepoint detailing.

SAFEHOME is one of six metro domestic violence shelters, and is the only program of services for victims of domestic violence in Johnson County. SAFEHOME’s mission is to break the cycle of sexual and domestic violence and abuse. The Love of Friendship 2010 Heart Bookends will be in the auction for the Lenexa United Methodist Church Youth’s Chili & Soup Supper and Auction. The church exists to create an enthusiastic Christian community formed in the faith and transformed into dynamic servants of Jesus. The auction is sponsored by the LUMYouth…this annual event helps raise money for youth-related missions and is a TON OF FUN for all!! The snowflake bookends will be in the auction for the 4th Annual Hoops & Sneakers Gala for the American Diabetes Association on February 20, 2010. The event will feature cocktails, dinner with awards, live & silent auctions, live music & dancing, and keynote speaker Kevin Lockett – former wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs. The auction benefits the Kansas City staff work toward their mission of the American Diabetes Association: to present and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. Efforts include educational and support programs for newly diagnoses, critical research, and advocacy.

Feb. 6, 2010:Original Snowflake Bookends in Silent Auction for Animal Haven Gala 2010

The original model for the snowflake bookends will be included in the silent auction for Animal Haven’s Martinis Gala 2010 on the evening of February 6 at the Muehlebach Tower of the downtown Marriott. I embroidered on the back of one of the bookends, “Animal Haven Thanks You (followed by a heart) Gala ’10,” so it should be an important keepsake for the lucky recipient. The Gala’s rock ‘n roll theme should be fun.

Animal Haven is now greater Kansas City’s largest no-kill animal shelter. All funds raised will go to the care of the homeless pets at Animal Haven.

Our family was fortunate to have gotten a cat and a dog that have since passed away from Animal Haven and they were both great pets. Consider getting out for this fun event and support the efforts of this organization.
