The Blue Diamonds handbag gets its name from the needlework blue diamonds that surround the lacy-like, pulled thread embroidery in its front and side panels. The soft repurposed jeans will make carrying this handbag gentle on your hands and easy to coordinate with clothing favorites. The jean’s pockets are conveniently placed on the Blue Diamond handbag. There is a large, needlework blue diamond on one of the jean’s two hip pockets on the back of the handbag. Immediately inside the handbag’s front are the jean’s two front pockets making them ideal for must-find items. The roomy (13-1/2” x 10” x 3-1/2”) handbag is large enough to even accommodate a small computer (not recommended for computers without the addition of the optional protective padding).
The embroidered saying, “Better to be a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without,” by Confucius, is prominently displayed on the handbag’s buttoned over-sized flap. When going small is best, the Blue Diamonds handbag includes an easy-to-detach inside clutch purse.

The clutch features a zippered front storage pouch and its own shortened, blue diamonds and pulled thread needlepoint panel. When the clutch purse is attached inside the handbag, the pocket’s front zipper pouch should remain open to provide easy-access key storage.

Blue Diamonds Handbag Story
It was in the summer of 2009, as my husband and I traveled to Idaho, that I saw so many ideas and was inspired to start Becky Bags LLC and create the first handbag, called Blue Diamonds. Some of the stops included Wall Drug in Wall, South Dakota; the Potato Museum in Blackfoot, Idaho; the Akta Lokota Museum & Cultural Center in Chamberlain, South Dakota; Yellowstone National Park; the Pony Express Station in Gothenburg, Nebraska; and the Homestead National Monument of America in Beatrice, Nebraska.

In addition to the thanks to my husband for the inspirational Idaho trip, I want to thank my Mother for her assistance on this first handbag. Not only did she spend time teaching me how to do the sewing and needlework over the years, she gave me the materials advice necessary to make the needlework panels possible. My two daughters gladly offered their preference comments that lead to improvements.
